BIG LESS MAKES THE BIG STAGE!

History was made on March 5th, as Bassmaster kicked off it’s inaugural season of the new B.A.S.S. Nation Kayak Series, at the 2020 Bassmaster Classic. 230 Anglers competed in a single day event on Logan Martin lake for a chance to walk across the biggest stage in all of professional fishing. The top 10 anglers in the event would get the opportunity to walk on the Bassmaster master stage for the revealing of the tournament results. Proudly one of our own, Jon Lessman, was amongst those ten anglers.

Once the results were revealed, Jon Lessman was awarded with a 3rd place Trophy, proving his hard work and dedication to the sport of kayak fishing had paid off in a big way! Not only did Jon go home with a trophy, but he also cashed a $5000 check!! Not too bad for a single day tournament in a kayak. Anchored by a 18.75" Largemouth, Jon’s best 5 went for a total of 84.75”.
Conditions were brutal all day for the anglers, including Jon, with heavy downpours and winds punishing the anglers for nearly 7 hours straight. Jon found success though, on a small flat in the back, on a creek arm known as Clear Creek on Logan Martin Lake. Jon spent most of his day on that flat and fished with a white spinnerbait, Wicked Weights Wicked Willow, and a Carolina Rig with a Wicked Weights Tungsten Motor Bomb.
Congratulations Jon, on an amazing achievement!!
